Support for Accessing Climate Adaptation Funding

Funding Opportunities

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) has launched a new intake for its Local Leadership for Climate Adaptation (LLCA) program through the Green Municipal Fund. This opportunity is available for municipalities in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

This funding opportunity supports municipalities in developing:

  • Climate adaptation plans
  • Climate-focused asset management strategies
  • Community-wide climate risk assessments
  • Capacity-building initiatives

Over the past year, Eco-West Canada has proudly supported several municipalities in Manitoba in securing funding to begin their climate adaptation journey. We’re now extending that same support to municipalities in Saskatchewan, through our partnership with the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association (SUMA) and its new Municipal Eco Action Centre.

The first step to accessing LLCA funding is completing FCM’s Climate-Ready Communities Assessment Tool—a quick, guided process that typically takes about two hours. EWC can assist up to 15 municipalities at no cost in completing this critical step.

Once your assessment is complete, we’ll continue to work with you throughout the application process to help secure funding for your full climate adaptation plan.

🗓️ Deadline to apply: September 16, 2025

If your municipality is ready to take meaningful steps toward climate resilience, we’re here to help.
