NEW Manitoba GRO Program – Call Out for Strategic Infrastructure Projects

Thanks to a commitment of $42 million from the Manitoba government, the new Manitoba Growth, Renewal and Opportunities for Municipalities (Manitoba GRO) program is now accepting applications from rural municipalities for grant funding of strategic infrastructure projects.
Who Can Apply: Applicants must be from rural Manitoba municipalities with a strategic infrastructure project focused on:
- Renewal– To renew, renovate, expand, or replace existing infrastructure beyond its current service life
- Innovation – To build or enhance capital infrastructure that better responds to current and anticipated future needs, and utilize proven technology to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Climate Resiliency – To build infrastructure to withstand or mitigate the effects of climate change, including severe weather events
Funding for capital projects including:
- Public Safety
- Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Climate Resiliency
- Fire Stations and Major Equipment
- Roads, Bridges and Active Transportation
- Recreational Infrastructure
- Multi-Modal Transportation
- Solid Waste Management and Organic Waste Diversion
Funding Amount: 50% of total eligible costs
