MANITOBA GOVERNMENT INVESTING $8.7 MILLION TO DIVERT WASTE FROM LANDFILLS

Eco-West Canada is pleased to announce that it will receive $30,000 from the Manitoba government as it takes additional measures help protect the environment by providing more than $8.7 million for waste diversion initiatives, with a focus on reducing greenhouse-gas emissions and creating a circular economy in Manitoba, Environment, Climate and Parks Minister Jeff Wharton announced today. The money allocated to EWC will be used for market research to find ways to increase organic waste diversion, which is increasingly becoming an important aspect of tackling climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, avoiding the creation of additional landfill space as well as creating employment opportunities in the context of a circular economy.
