Job description:

Reporting to the Manager of Municipal Relations, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the collection and analysis of data required to carry out community and corporate GHG inventories and municipal climate action plans in collaboration with project managers.

(N.B. Please note that applicants must be between the ages of 15 to 29 years old, in accordance with the criteria of the government program that is providing the funds for this position.)

Responsibilities: 

Develop and implement strategies to:

  • Collect the data required for the analysis of greenhouse gas inventories.
  • Prepare the necessary information to support the communication of greenhouse gas inventory data with municipalities/communities and other stakeholders using effective visual formats.
  • Act as a resource person for those responsible for communicating results to communities. 
  • Complete the requested data analyses.
  • Collaborate with consultants to present data and issues in person.

Administrative:

  • Delegate the tasks and responsibilities of team members
  • Coordinate team member activities 
  • Ensure a collegial atmosphere within the department
  • Provide a positive and respectful work environment

Budget management:

  • Carry out tasks within the allocated budget 

Education and Training:

  • University degree in environmental sciences and/or bachelor’s degree in commerce

Work Experience and Skills Required:

  • 2 years in a similar position 
  • Proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken
  • A high degree of autonomy and initiative.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Strong sense of organization and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or other data manipulation tools.
  • Ability to synthesize information and data 
  • Ability to convey information and data in convenient formats
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts
  • Ability to communicate with an audience

Remuneration:  $27.50 / hr. –  position is for 12 weeks
