Eco-West Canada’s mandate is promoting the sustainable economic development of Canada’s rural municipalities


EWC’s activities thus include assisting rural and urban municipalities as well as other clients in developing and implementing green projects by capitalizing on the synergies created through local and regional action planning. To achieve these goals, EWC is active in the following sectors:

QUEST Canada: Results of the Net-Zero Communities Accelerator Pilot Program

QUEST Canada works with communities to enable local action required to achieve net-zero emissions across the Canadian economy.

This report, released in June of 2023, provides valuable insight on key deliverables and outcomes of QUEST’s efforts. As well, insights are shared about the preconditions at the community level that deliver the biggest impacts.

Efficiency Manitoba: Manitoba Community Rink Lighting Initiative

Efficiency Manitoba is launching a new limited-time initiative aiming to help communities throughout the province reduce their energy bills and operating costs. Through the Community Rink Lighting Initiative, the Crown corporation will be providing funding to help multiple facilities with indoor ice rinks replace their inefficient lighting, covering up to 100% of reasonable lighting equipment and associated labour costs.
